POSITION: Finishing Paper Jogger
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Paper Jogger takes lifts of printed material (maximum size of 28 x 40 inches) and “jogs” or “handles” the lifts onto a paper jogging machine. The Paper Jogger ensures that air is in between the sheets to align the stock for the cutting process. Using an automated scale to obtain required weights for further processing, a Paper Jogger uses a hand board to straighten the sheets/lifts on the automated jogging machine, which then straightens them precisely and to the necessary weight for further processing. While performing the job, The Jogger also inspects the lifts for print defects.
Label sheets are jogged on skids. These skids of label sheets will eventually be processed through a cutting machine that will cut the label sheets into strips and/or packs of labels for further processing in the plant.
Physical Requirements: The job requires using both hands to manipulate the paper and the jogging hand board as well as the necessity to operate the computer machinery of the jogging station.
Paper Jogger positions require standing the entire shift. Paper joggers also routinely push, pull and lift layers and strips of labels. The printed material that is lifted, pushed and/or pulled is approximately 25 lbs. Paper Joggers also use pallet jacks to move pallets.
Gamse employees get two 15 minute breaks and one ½ hour lunch break.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The job also necessitates the employee to have good basic math skills and be familiar with operating electronic machinery.
