Jarred Fruits, the Unsung Hero of the Food Groups! Let’s Make ‘Em Sing with a New Label
By Al the Label Guy
Whoever said “fresh is best” when it comes to fruits has obviously never cracked open a jar of sweet and thick applesauce made from the juiciest apples this side of Aunt Mary’s orchard. And they have probably also not known the pleasure of smearing the thickest, ripest blackberry jam—directly from a jar—on their morning toast. I feel sorry for those “whoevers”.
Here at Gamse, one of our favorite food groups is jarred fruit! And we’ve had the pleasure of printing bulk labels for many fantastic fruit brands. If you’re a jarred fruit producer, you’ve got so much to be proud of with your carbohydrates for energy, fiber for digestion, and vitamins and minerals for overall health and wellness. Now all you need is a great label to catch the eye of those consumers who include you in their healthy eating plan. We can help you with that. First, let’s take a look at consumers’ favorite jarred fruits, starting with a countdown of the top 10 jam/jelly flavors in the US (we didn’t conduct this survey, so don’t blame us). Do you see yours here?
#1 Grape
#2 Strawberry
#3 Raspberry
#4 Blackberry
#5 Orange Marmalade
#6 Fig
#7 Apricot
#8 Apple Butter (is that a jam?)
#9 Rhubarb
#10 Blueberry
But there is more to jarred fruits than jams. Some other favorite conveniently packaged fruits and garnishes include:
- Peaches
- Cherries
- Mandarin oranges
- Orange peel slices
- Pineapple chunks
- Apricots
- Plumbs
The right label can get you noticed among all the other jarred fruit brands out there. Ready to up your label game this fall? Start by asking yourself these questions:
- Does my product packaging WOW the pickiest of fruit consumers?
- Will my product label hold up against the sticky, gooey goodness dripping down the side of the jar?
- Am I flexible when it comes to label materials and substrates?
You don’t have to have all the answers — because Gamse does! We’ve been around for more than 125 years, so we’ve got lots of ideas and creative options when it comes to label materials to help you meet the demands of your fruit branding needs.
